Person Who Changed the World:Abraham Lincoln

       He was born in Kentucky, US in 1809. His father Thomas and mother Nancy were uneducated farmers. His parents belonged to a church against slavery in his young age that had been the impact of such sentiments.when Lincoln was nine years old, his mother died. In 1830, his family moved to lllinois. Lincoln   received only eighteen months of non-formal education, but his stepmother was to take care of  him. Through diligent self-study, in 1836 he became a lawyer. He said that without his stepmother he would have not been today's Lincoln.
      When he was young, his life was not smooth.  He was fired. He had two business failure. His wife had a bad temper and she was not easy to get along.  He was upset about this.
       He was the16th president in US(March 4,1861-April 15,1865), and was also the frist Republican president.When American Civil War was coming, he abolished slavery in southern states. He emphasized on the principles of nationalism, equal rights, liberty and democracy. He is one of America's greatest presidents. On April 14th, 1865,when he was watching an opera in the theatre,  he was shot by slavery supporter actor John.  He died next morning.

      I think he is a great man, and he was a great leader, and a talent, I admire him very much.  He was very persistent and brave. He also rescued a lot of people. He is strong and clever. He believed freedom and equality of the world. He was a great president!
